Bitfocus Companion Plugin Release
It was a few weeks ago when someone emailed me with some questions and ideas regarding AutoPTT. One of the things they asked about was support for a device called the Loupedeck. I had never even heard of it. I looked it up, and had to regrettably inform them that creating a plugin for a discontinued device with limited software support was not exactly high on the priority list.
Fortunately for them, that was not the end of the story. I was introduced to the Bitfocus Companion, an alternative software for the Stream Deck and other similar devices – including the Loupedeck.
The Companion also happened to be open source and have pretty good documentation, so I figured making a plugin for it wouldn’t be that big of a deal, as I could reuse a lot of code from the Stream Deck plugin.
Let’s just say there were some unforeseen circumstances. But now the dust has settled, and the first version of the plugin is available via the button below.
Granted, it doesn’t look exactly like the Stream Deck plugin, but it works in a very similar fashion. In fact, it’s actually more customizable than the Stream Deck plugin.
If you think you might find the plugin useful, give it a shot, and as always, if you find bugs or have any other feedback, please do get in touch.
